Hostage Rescue Team– The Tactical Operations section of the Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) possesses many teams dedicated to protecting American citizens across the world, and one of the most important of these teams is the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT).Those who seek specialization in FBI field operations should consider becoming a member of the Tactical Mobility Team. Tactical Mobility Team– When you join the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), there are many different areas that you could choose to specialize in.Tactical Aviation Pilots can also be requested to go on surveillance missions if needed. Tactical Aviation Pilot– While working as a FBI Tactical Aviation Pilot, you will transport HRT and SWAT members on their domestic missions and may also fly international missions.FBI SWAT– The tactical section of the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) is dedicated to ensuring the safety of American citizens both domestically and internationally, and no tactical operation group is more important in fulfilling this mission than Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).Sniper/Observer– The Bureau’s Genocide War Crimes Unit (GWCU) is given responsibility to identify, track and capture suspects of war crimes and genocide, and bring them before the courts to face justice.Whether nuclear, biological or chemical, WMDs can cause a tremendous loss of life if left unchecked, and it is for these situations that the FBI maintains its Hazardous Materials Response Unit (HMRU). Hazardous Materials Response Unit– TWeapons of mass destruction (WMD) pose a large threat to the general public.Crisis Negotiation Unit– Engaging in tactical operations is one of the most important responsibilities of the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG), and to assist in these operations, CIRG maintains the Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU).Assault Team– Assault Team Operatives, whether working with the HRT or as part of a SWAT team, are responsible for extracting Americans from dangerous situations, which means they must be possessed of advanced skills and undergo rigorous training before being sent on rescue missions.However, for the toughest situations imaginable, the FBI also possesses Enhanced SWAT teams. The Tactical Aviation unit works in support of the other Tactical Section groups. The members of these units possess advanced military training and perform such tasks as arresting criminals, rescuing hostages and providing security. In addition to the Tactical Section, the CIRG also includes sections including crisis management, aviation support, ground and air surveillance, analysis/assessment and strategic information dissemination.
